Thomas Jack Hockett

Hunt Genealogy & Associates is proud of our highly esteemed colleague and associate, Thomas Jack Hockett of Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Particularly noted for his avid interest in the genealogies of Southwest Virginia families, Mr. Hockett is widely acclaimed for his brilliant contributions to the genealogical and historical communities of the Virginia-Tennessee border area.

Thomas Jack Hockett is a native of Smyth County, Virginia. He was educated in Washington County, Virginia and Portsmouth, Virginia, Berea College at Berea, Kentucky, and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Illinois. Mr. Hockett specialized in history, languages, and science. He additionally studied at the University of Rochester, New York, and has studied business in the French language at the French University in America, New York City. He also served as an Instructor in French at Southern Illinois University.

Mr. Hockett currently serves as Director of Regional Clinical Research/Japan, for Wyeth-Ayerst Research in Radnor, Pennsylvania. He previously has served as liaison for Wyeth-Ayerst EU office, headquartered in Paris. Additionally, he has served as Co-Manager of EU Clinical Research for A. H. Robins Company, out of Crawley, West Sussex, UKI. He has been employed in the clinical/medical research field of the pharmaceutical industry for 22 years, and has worked and traveled widely in North America, Europe, and the Far East.

In addition to Mr. Hockett's historical and genealogical interests, his more prominent hobbies include the study of eight languages and travel around the globe. He is a member of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and the Historical Society of Virginia, in addition to scientific and medical societies.
